1992 was the first harvest after the family decided to stop selling to big brands and started the Quevedo’s brand. A wise decision, as this 1992 is one of the best Colheita ever produced! A very special Port to celebrate special moments.

Intense and focused aromas of sun dried fruits, spices, old wood and grilled nuts.
The entry on the palate is rich and full of dried fruit flavours, the mid-palate is tight and dryer with smoky character, the finish is explosive with a multi-layared and very long finish lingering on flavours of cinnamon, candied fruits and poached fruits.

Fermented on the native yeasts in stainless steel tanks.

Remained for two years aging in the stainless steel tanks. Once most of the natural decantion was finished, this Port was moved to seasoned oak balseiro and casks to age for 28 years until bottling in 2022. Unfiltered.
Winemaker:

Granada, muitos reflexos esverdeados. O nariz remete para algum caramelizado, pastelaria fina e noz. Tanino certeiro, volume em contexto, final mais iodado do que o restante conjunto faria supor. Tem graça pelos contrastes que demonstra.
The 1992 Colheita Tawny Port is a field blend made up of roughly 35% Touriga Franca, 20% Tinta Roriz, 15% Touriga Nacional, 10% Tinta Barroca and others, aged for 24 years in used oak. This, the third release of this 1992, was bottled in 2018 with a long cork and 101 grams of residual sugar. Juicy and lively, this dribbles the sugar over the palate at first taste, but it quickly dries out and becomes more about the complexity, the bitter chocolate. The finish is long, powerful and penetrating. Some may prefer more sex appeal, but I liked this a lot. There will be another few releases of this as it gets older but with increasingly long times between releases.
