O vinho é uma paixão! Realmente gostamos daquilo que fazemos! Começa com a poda das videiras, depois rebentam as primeiras folhas e finalmente chega a vindima. Na adega escolhe-se o momento certo para colher as uvas, faz-se uma selecção de cachos procurando obter vinhos equilibrados com o intuito de conseguir um conjunto de vinhos interessante e que seja portador do nosso estilo próprio.
As vinhas são lindas, o vale do Douro é extraordinário, Portugal é um país agradável e alguns dos nossos amigos gostam dos vinho que fazemos. Conhece-se gente nova, come-se e bebe-se bem. Mas não nos podemos esquecer que também temos de vender o nosso vinho. Ou pelo menos algumas garrafas!!! E esta parte também é divertida mas não é tão fácil.
E como não é tão fácil aqui na Quevedo decidimos usar outras ferramentas de marketing menos convencionais e criámos o nosso blog de vinhos. Cremos que nos pode ajudar a mostrar ao mundo os nosso vinhos e talvez as pessoas até gostem e possam divertir-se. Temos tido um bom crescimento nos últimos anos, as exportações estão a aumentar mas há dois países-chave que nos estão a faltar: EUA e Reino Unido. Não estamos a exportar para nenhum destes países. Queremos fazê-lo.
Então mãos-à-obra e vamos tentar encontrar um bom embaixador para os nossos vinhos. Nos últimos meses trocámos alguma informação com um par de importadores nos EUA, um do lado este e outro do oeste. Mostraram interesse em conhecer os nossos vinhos e nós tratámos de enviar amostras. Esperamos agora comentários favoráveis. Nesta história toda ainda houve tempo para nos rirmos um bocado: quando um dos nossos contactos recebeu os vinhos preparou as garrafas para enviar a uma agência governamental de controlo mas por engano foram enviadas junto com outros vinhos para um distribuidor. O distribuidor abriu todas as garrafas e parece que adorou “cada uma delas”. Lá tivemos de preparar novas amostras para enviar e entretanto lá passaram mais duas semanas. Talvez este possa acabar por ser “um desejável engano”!
Queremos realmente partilhar paixão que temos dentro com o mundo e esperamos que essa partilha comece brevemente tanto nos EUA como no Reino Unido!

In the winery you choose the right moment to pick up the grapes, you select the grapes to get balanced wines with the perspective of achieving a very nice collection of wines with your own style.
The vines are beautiful, the Douro Valley is amazing, Portugal is a nice country and some of your friends like your wines. You meet people, you eat and drink plentiful. But you cannot forget you must also sell your wine. Or at least some bottles!!! And this is also nice but not so easy.
Because that is not easy we in Quevedo decided to use some other marketing tools and set up a wine blog. We think it can help us to show the world our wines and probably people will like and enjoy it. In the last years we have been facing a good growth, our exports are rising but two base-countries are missing: US and UK. We are not exporting to any of these countries. And we want to!
So hands on approach and lets try to find a good ambassador of our wines. In the last months we exchanged some information with a couple of importers in the US, in the East and West. They gave us good feed-back, we sent some samples and now we are waiting for the approval. In all this process there was also time to burst out laughing: when one of our contacts received the samples, he prepared it so send to a government control agency but by mistake they were sent together with other wines to a distributor in the Midwest. The distributor opened them all and its seams he loved “every single one”. Well, he had to prepare new samples to send and in the meantime two more weeks had gone. Maybe this could turn out to be “a desirable mistake”!
We are really willing to share with the world the passion we have inside, and I hope we can share it with the US and the UK soon!
