This last year has marked me a lot. Many things have been happening in Quevedo and with me. Everything started when we decided to accept Catavino’s challenge and set up the first blog of a Port Wine producer. With that our lives started to be filled with different routines, writing posts and participating in the social media. We met a bunch of new people, made new friends in the wine business, but also some not wine related (fortunately); some folks visited us at our winery; we attended to blogger’s conferences, meetings and tastings; we went to some expositions; we found new clients; the little Beatriz started to walk almost at the same week my dear grandpa João died. Lot of emotions this last 12 months.
What else move could yet have happened during this period? Are you thinking about vintage declaration? Bingo! Quevedo will bottle around 3,000 bottles of Vintage Port from the harvest of 2007. The grapes for this vintage came from our main vineyards, the Quinta Vale d’Agodinho, which is located in the south bank of the Douro river, very close to the train station of Ferradosa, in the border between Cima Corgo and Douro Superior. Quinta Vale d’Agodinho is a 25 years old blended vineyard with20 hectares of vines and a small area of olive trees.
Do not ask me to describe or talk about this wine because I want to challenge you to give me your opinion. We will release it by the end of the Summer and I hope, if you have opportunity to taste it, you will come back here and leave your comments.
I made a video, with the help of Pedro, talking about that. I hope you enjoy!
