In some years, when the grapes reach perfect maturation, a considerable percentage of the grapes harvested go into the production of Vintage Port, which can be bottled as Single Quinta Vintage Port or used in the blend of our Quevedo Vintage Port, depending from year to year. Our LBV has consistently a generous percentage of grapes from Agodinho. Grapes from our Claudia’s Douro red wine are also coming from Agodinho.

Quinta Vale D'Agodinho

Quinta Vale d’Agodinho is located next to the Douro River which embraces 650 feet of the vineyards. Fifty luscious acres are full of the best varieties of the region.

Quevedo vineyards showcase a small terroir of 50-years-old vines of strong structure, ageing potential and low yield production, alongside 25-years-old vines with rare flavour and freshness.

Every December the vines are pruned in preparation for the harsh and dry summer. Before Autumn comes, between the second and the third week of September, the lovely hard-work knocks at the door, it is vintage time!

Quinta Vale D'Agodinho

Junto ao Douro, rio que a abraça ao longo de 200 metros, fica a Quinta Vale d’Agodinho.

São 20 hectares mágicos, plenos das melhores castas da região, entre as quais estao a touriga nacional, a touriga franca, a tinta-roriz, o tinto cão e a tinta barroca.

Nesta quinta convive uma pequena parcela de veneráveis cepas de 50 anos, matriarcas de uma néctares raríssimos produzidos em quantidades muito limitadas, com fecundos pés de 25 anos, onde amadurecem vinhos com invulgar sabor e frescura.

E é lá que todos os anos, em Dezembro, a poda prepara as cepas para resistirem ao rigor e à secura do Verão. Antes de chegar o Outono, chega a apoteose dos meados de Setembro – a Vindima.
