Oscar’s Rosé 2019

The 2019 Oscar’s Rosé is a Touriga Nacional, bone dry and coming in at 13% alcohol. As with its Branco sibling this issue, this is an overachiever that shows just great in its youth. Reasonably concentrated but very focused, flavorful and showing off some of the grape’s aromatics, this is both enticing and solid. It can be drunk on its own, but it’s built well enough to be a good pairing for various foods too. I was also pleased to see it hold up nicely to air and warmth. Drink it very young, but it just might hold nicely for a few years, not that there is a real point to holding it. June 2020.
