Claudia’s is made from white grapes produced from our vineyards and from our neighbours. We do not follow a recipe. Grape composition varies from year to year, as we want to express the best that nature gives us each year. This white wine is rich such as pastry and cream, but beautifully balanced by a clean acidity and mineral after-taste.

Wide and intense bouquet with pure expression of pears and acacia flowers with minerality showing through seashells aromas.
Fresh and round entry on the palate with creamy texture. The mid palate is opening up developing layers of fruits and herbal flavors perfectly entwined, like rocha pears, golden apples, basilic and chervil. Viticulture:
2021 had a rainy winter, mild spring and summer. The harvest started in August and was long, fresh and rainy.
Fermentation:
The grapes were gently pressed, the must slowly fermented in barrels with regular battonage in order to perfectly integrate with the oak.
Aging:
Matured for 8 months in new and used (34% new, 33% 2nd use, 33% 3rd use) 500-liter French oak (67%) and Hungarian oak (33%) barrels.
Winemaker:
Teresa Batista
This wood-aged wine is soft, with touches of spice and plenty of acidity. The wine is rounded and will soften and fill out with rich white fruits. It will be ready from 2023.
The 2021 Claudia’s Branco Reserve is a blend of Gouveio (52%), Viosinho (25%), Códega (18%) and Folgasão for the rest, all aged for eight months in one-third new French and Hungarian oak. It comes in at 12.9% alcohol. This handles its oak flawlessly, which means that the fruit shines through and the freshness takes control. There’s a juicy and tasty finish with just a little acidic bite. I’m not sure this will evolve much if you age it, but it might hold on and become more interesting over the next couple of years. There’s not a lot of concentration, but the rest is very fine. Drink this on its own or with lighter foods.
