Aged in old 110-gallon barrels, this Port is at the sweet spot where fruit has almost disappeared and the mature old wood, spice and acidity come through along with hints of spirit. It is ready to drink.

The NV 20 Year Old Tawny Port is a field blend with 132 grams per liter of residual sugar, aged in well used 650-liter casks for approximately 23 years. This shows more nuttiness and complexity than the 10 reviewed this issue, but it remains elegant and spicy. With 132 grams per liter of residual sugar, it is also rather sweet. There is a bit of alcohol showing, too, but this manages to stay in balance mostly. The lingering, flavorful finish is certainly delectable.
